Year 12 student, Hayden Orr, is making the most of his Workplace Learning opportunity, gaining valuable hands-on experience as a kitchen hand.
Working in a busy commercial kitchen, Haydenβs role focuses primarily on food preparation, allowing him to develop practical skills, build confidence and experience the realities of working in the hospitality industry.
At Aveley SC, students in Years 11 and 12 can nominate to complete Workplace Learning as part of their Senior School studies. Working closely with our Pathways Team, students are encouraged to find a host employer aligned with their interests and career goals, helping them gain real-world experience, develop industry-specific skills and prepare for life beyond school.

A big thank you to The Brook Bar & Bistro for supporting our students and providing valuable opportunities to gain experience in the workplace. If you would like to provide a similar opportunity for one of our students, please contact the Pathways Team at Aveley.SC.Pathways@education.wa.edu.au
