Fresh as Café a Success
Students have welcomed Chris and her team to the college and are very pleased with the meals on offer. It is standing room only at both Lunch 1 and Lunch 2 as students rush in to get their food from the selection of freshly made on site produce. Chris adapts any menu item to taste and preferences and as she is passionate about providing nutritious and tasty meals, she is quickly learning and catering for, the student’s various tastes. An additional menu for special dietary requirements has now been released.
Academies
We are very excited to kick start our Academies program this term, most of the programs occuring after school commencing week 2 and will continue until the end of term. All parents/caregivers have been emailed details on how to register through Qkr and students were provided with the Academy schedule in PCG class. There is a fantastic range of Academy options including sporting teams, technology and the Arts. If you have any questions please contact the College.
Visual Art
Our Year 7 students have been busy in Visual Art creating animal chalk pastel drawings as part of their Semester One drawing unit. They have gone through a series of drawing processes to complete their artworks and the quality of the drawings has been impressive. Some of the works are featured below and on display in our front office.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data
Our school is part of a national project about students with disability and or learning difficulties, called the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). We have been asked to provide data about the number and learning needs of students at our school. As part of the collected data, individual students and schools are not identified.
The project aims to collect information about differing student needs. It also looks at the levels of intervention in place such as the programs and resources the school has utilised so that students can overcome barriers, participate and learn. We believe it is important to contribute to this project because it will help inform Government and the Education Department about level of resources needed in schools.
